Atlantic Country Buffet - Fresh Asian, Mexican & American Cuisine in Morganton, NC

Atlantic Country Buffet in Morganton is really worth trying. I went with my family last weekend and was pleasantly surprised. The variety is excellent — you’ll find a mix of Asian, Mexican, and American dishes all side by side, plus a good dessert section. What impressed me most was how hot and fresh everything was. Even toward the end of their lunch service, the staff kept refilling the trays so nothing looked dry or sad. The place also looked clean – dining area, serving stations and all. The service was friendly too. Our server made sure our drinks were refilled and asked if we wanted anything else. It felt like they genuinely wanted us to enjoy our meal. If you’re craving a buffet with lots of options and good food without breaking the bank, I’d absolutely recommend Atlantic Country Buffet. I’ll definitely be going back.

I loved China King. Their gradual decline and closure was heartbreaking. I was nervous at first to try the new buffet. I wasn't sure what to expect or how good it would be. However, the new Atlantic Country Buffet exceeded my expectations! It's a unique blend of Asian, Mexican, and American foods - the perfect experience for those days where you have no idea what you want to eat. The food was fresh and delicious. My server was Selene, and she was so sweet. All of the staff were so polite and welcoming. If you've been missing the old Chinese buffet, or if you're just looking for something new or different, I'd highly recommend trying them out. It exceeded all of my expectations and I will absolutely be returning!

This place used to be under a different name of some sort of Chinese buffet. We had stopped eating there because we didn’t like the food quality. The food quality now seems to be improved from before. I would rate the food quality now as the typical buffet, slightly better than some. However, I have a high standard for food quality and flavor, so to me it is still not 5star food quality. I was not disappointed but neither was I impressed. The atmosphere was much better than before due to the addition of new furnishings. Our waitress Selene was very friendly. She had a great personality. When this restaurant was under the old ownership we had decided to not return. After this visit under the new ownership with all the upgrades we decided this was again worth returning to periodically. The only complaint I have during this visit was that something seemed wrong within the ice cream cooler. The sherbet in the front of the cooler was nearly melted and did not look pleasant. I would recommend to the new owners to take more care in watching the appearance of ‘all’ the food at all times. Including the ice cream. But this could have easily been because of careless customers leaving the door open between use. Best wishes to the new owners and staff.
